How does 24-7 Prayer work?
Room
First of all you need a room that is easy to reach, if possible in your own Church building, because your Church members know the place. This room should become a room of silence where no Phone, TV or Radio disturbs those who come to pray. Get some creative people from the congregation to decorate the room and to make it very special for the week. You can use the decoration to suggest certain topics for Prayer. During the week the people from your Church will pray in this room individually on their own, or together with one or more Prayer Partners.
Prayer List
Around two or three Sundays before the week start to have them sign up in a Prayer list for every hour that they want to spend in the prayer room.

Especially if you’re doing 24-7 Prayer in your Church for the first time, you probably need to think of some creative ways how you can introduce this special week to the people, so that everyone will understand what’s about to happen. If you get a creative team to do this work, you’ll automatically have some people who will get excited about 24-7 as they get involved with preparation for the week.
Room care
You need to ask some people to look after the room who will make sure that everything is in order. They also provide some Dinks and little Snacks for those people who come to pray during the night. This doesn’t involve much work and it can be done within a few minutes, so the best time for them to do this service is during their own scheduled time for Prayer.
Key
You need to have at least one person who is responsible for the key for the Prayer room. Usually there is always a key that stays in the room. But it might happen that the next person who is scheduled on the list is not able to come. Usually our experience is that there is always someone else who would love to fill in and spend an extra hour in Prayer. But just in case the room would remain empty for an hour or two, the person who is in there last needs to know what needs to be done with the key. The room needs to be locked up and the key needs to be handed over to a coordinator who will open the room again for the next person on the list.
